So, I have had about 6 blogs on a variety of topics prior to moving into games. In all those blogs, over about 5 years, I have always surfed to my blog, edited my post in real-time and then submitted the final post.
On the advice of a friend, I decided to try out Windows Live Writer. Although it is primarily designed as a tool to help Windows Live Spaces users blog more easily, it is built to work with most major blog engines, including BlogEngine.NET, which I am using for GameTime24x7.
This is my first new post using WLW and I'm finding the interface a bit cartoony - a good thing in my book - and love the peace of mind that a slip of the mouse or a click of a button is not going to set me at square one with the blog. Now that I'm wrapping up, I'm trying to determine how to assign categories when, lo and behold, I see a Categories drop-down that has auto-populated with the categories I have defined on the blog - very cool. The tags functionality is also robust, though you have to assign a specific "tag provider" (as evidenced below). It's time to publish, so here goes...
